Owned by the infamous Presidente, Cristina Kirchner, Casa Los Sauces is certainly one of the more prestigious hotels in town. Set down by the waterside, it is a series of small residences holding either 3 or 4 rooms in each. The quality of each is very high and each of the rooms has been designed with a different colour palette and concept in mind. With, arguably, the best restaurant in town and superb service, the Casa los Sauces is a very good hotel, although lacks views.

Certainly one of the best hotels in El Calfate, this small hotel has recently been completed as an investment property for Cristina Kirchner. There is very much a feeling when you arrive to the entrance that they have tried not to spare any expense with golf buggies to shuttle clients between the houses and reception, and the briefing completed in your room rather than in the public areas.

The houses themselves are separated into 5, and each feature 2 corner rooms and the rest being the standard rooms (this varies between sizes of the houses). The rooms themselves are superb with plenty of space, en suite bathrooms and have been designed with certain themes and colour schemes in mind.

One of the joys of staying in Casa Los Sauces is that it does not really feel like a hotel in that each of the houses has its own communal area with log fire and dining table etc which make them perfect for families and couples travelling as a group. The only downside to the property is that, for security, it is hidden away and, as such, does not enjoy very good views to Lago Argentina, whish is about 20 meters away.

Excellent service, great restaurant, good location, very private
