A superb little hotel, nestling right in the heart of the infamous Palermo Viejo district, the Hotel Legado Mitico, Buenos Aires offers a quirky and intimate view of the city. Each of the large rooms has been styled with a different, famous Argentine in mind, with iconic nick nacks and photos adorning the rooms. The main areas, too, have had a great deal of care taken using leather armchairs and bookshelves to give the feel of a home rather than a hotel. This is one of our personal favourites.

The Hotel Legado Mitico is one of a new breed of hotel that has begun to spring up in the Palermo district of the city. Traditionally this has been a fairly run down area of Buenos Aires and, as such, was usually only recommended to visitors as an area to have a look at on the weekends rather than to stay in. Today, however, the districts of Palermo, Viejo, Soho and Hollywood, are amongst some of the most interesting and lively in the city. With the many bars and restaurants have also come a collection of high end retailers and so, for those looking for an interesting area to use as a base while in the capital then there is none better than looking at the Hotel Legado Mitico.

The hotel itself was a small town house originally and features a luxurious central lounge area and dining areas off shooting from here. Out at the back there is a small, outdoor garden area that provides a tranquil retreat from the bustle of the city around. The thing that we enjoyed most about the hotel is the fact that the staff and overall feel to the place is of being at home and so nothing is too much trouble.

Great location, excellent service/food.

Lacks facilities of larger hotels.
