An overview of where to go and what's on offer in Argentina...

Argentina - Buenos Aires
Argentina - Buenos Aires

From a geographical point of view, Argentina, as the 8th largest country on the planet, is also one of the least densely populated. Around 30% of the population of 40 million lives in the capital, Buenos Aires. On top of this, the next 4 major cities then account for the next 5 million or so. This leaves around 14 million spread out through the remaining towns and cities of Argentina.

With inhospitable places such as the Tierra del Fuego and the arid Patagonian steppe to contend with, it is no wonder that there still remain many areas of the country that are still to be anything more than pristine wilderness.

This lack of people and diversity of habit, from rainforest to frozen fjord lands and high Andean plateaus to ravaged Atlantic coastlines, make this a unique destination to visit. From the cultural melting pot that is Buenos Aires, to the spectacular sights of El Calafate and Iguazu falls, Argentina is a destination that holds pretty much anyone’s attention.

With such a wide spread of interests and cultures it can be a bit of a process in the first place to decide what can and can’t be done. In the information we have put together in this section, we hope that you will get some sort of idea for what it is that you are after.

      Belmond Hotel das Cataratas

Owned and managed by the superb Belmond chain, Hotel das Cataratas is the only alternative to the Melia Hotel that has views to the falls themselves.
