Review

Located just down the road from the excellent Park Hyatt, the Four Seasons Hotel, Buenos Aires is a slightly poorer version in our view. Similar in concept to the Hyatt, the hotel made the decision to use the old town house as a venue, rather than for clients, thus negating it as a reason to stay. As you would expect, the food and service is to a very high standard, but, for our money, you would do better to walk a hundred yards down the road!

The Four Seasons is a very similar concept to the Hyatt with a main building for the hotel and a separate, private house that was the original residence. The main difference between the two approaches is that the Four Seasons have decided that it is better to use the private house as a function venue rather than as part of the hotel…this has given the hotel a rather strange aspect to it, where it feels like the pool is in the gardens of the private house.

As with many of the Four Seasons hotels, there is a level of service and luxury that you can expect and rely on for the chain, and it is no different here. The main entrance hall is decked in marble and is fairly grandiose. This theme is repeated in the rooms that are very comfortable and a good size, many of which have views out to the Rio Plata. The facilities too are very good and the restaurant, while not exceptional is still very much up to standard.

Spacious rooms, good service, good facilities

Location, fairly bland
