Review

Located just 3 blocks from Recoleta Cemetery, the Relais & Chateaux Algodon Mansion oozes class without too much exuberance and so retaining a welcoming and relaxed ambience. There are plenty of in-house facilities to enjoy once all the city sightseeing activities are over. It is hard to fault this property as it is placed in an excellent location, offers great service and above all has stunning rooms. Altogether this property has everything you’d expect from a boutique property and more!

Location

If you are keen to be in one of the smartest areas of the city and within walking distance to many of the main sights Buenos Aires has to offer such as the famous Recoleta Cemetery and a couple of leading art museums nearby, then the Algodon Mansion is a very good choice.

Rooms

Expect all rooms (from 55 square metres upwards) to offer comfort and, above all, space with high quality standards throughout…Italian marble, French limestone, wooden floors and larger than life bathrooms. All the rooms are Suites, with separate living areas as standard which all feature a cosy fireplace and original artwork present in the Superior Suites. The little extras that go along way for boutique hotel customers include a Nespresso coffee machine, tea menu, pillow menu, a complimentary bottle of Algodon Wine (private collection), Aquamass bathtub and L’Occitane amenity products as standard.

Layout

The property extends upwards (four floors) rather than in horizontal square footage. This is normal for most of the boutique hotels in the area; Recoleta being one of the areas where real estate is at a premium. There is an intimate rooftop terrace, which is promoted as an open- air cigar smokers lounge and where guests gather in the evening to sip on cocktails.

Features

The Algodon Club & wine bar has a vast Argentinian wine menu with excellent premium and vintage bottles to select from some originating from the Algodon Wine Estates (an 850 hectares/18 hole golf property) in San Rafael, Mendoza owned by the same company. There are also wine tasting rooms. Breakfast is offered a la carte in the covered patio dining area. There is also a dining area with 25 covers offering a fusion of the best of Argentinian/French cuisine prepared by a chef from Rosario. Those looking for some high end pampering will feel at home in this hotel with its extensive BIO treatment menu featuring exclusive Stendhal Paris products. The hotel can allocate your own personal locker for your cigar/cognac sessions. On some weekdays, there is live jazz music in the Davidoff lounge whilst every Friday you can expect a tango trio to entertain you.

location, facilities and service.

Not a lot of space in the communal areas but then again there are only a handful of rooms here so this is definitely not a big drawback for most customers!
